One Person Crying Exhibition Opening in Oradour

Dear friends and colleagues,

I'm very pleased to announce the opening of "One Person Crying: Women and War", in Oradour, France. Oradour-sur-Glane was the site of a terrible massacre on June 9, 1944. 642 men, women and children were killed and the town set ablaze afterwards. Then French president Charles de Gaulle ordered that the town not be rebuilt, but should remain as is, as testimony to the atrocities, in memory of the victims.

I photographed the ruins in February of this year, to include the images in "One Person Crying." The project is now complete.

The exhibition runs from June 22, 2013 - April 30, 2014 at Centre de la Mémoire, Oradour, France. Opening reception: Friday, June 21st, 2013, 6:30 p.m.
