Marissa is about to head back to Southeast Asia in order to complete her 28-year photo essay 'One Person Crying: Women and War' about women who have been directly affected by war. Vietnam is her destination, and it will be her first time there.

"I realized after looking at all of the images from the arc of the entire project that I need to go to Vietnam, as that was my coming-of-age war, which shaped me profoundly as a young person and activist. I now understand it was also through the photojournalism and specifically images of the American war in Vietnam that I was exposed to, published then in Life and Look magazines in the 1960's and '70's, that inspired me to become a photojournalist."

One Person Crying: Creative Visions

"A photographic exhibition by Creative Activist Marissa Roth featured at the Dan Eldon Gallery for Emerging Artists."

Inspired by the life of Dan Eldon, a young Reuters photojournalist killed in Somalia in 1993, Creative Visions Foundation ignites the creative spark within all of us to make a positive difference. The Creative Visions Foundation is the fiscal agent for Marissa's ongoing project "One Person Crying: Women and War," coming soon.
