It's About Life

After a journalist or photojournalist dies or gets killed while covering a war, I often hear people say...Oh, they had a death wish. I don't agree. I believe that they fervently had a life wish, which was why they took great risks to tell stories about humanity that needed telling, to show that war is brutal, insane, inconceivable, and that the consequences are endless.

This week was a terrible week...lost in Syria were Anthony Shadid, Marie Colvin and Remi Ochlik. Tim Hetherington and Chris Hondros were lost in Libya last year. Many more all across the globe have also been lost covering wars and addressing human and civil rights issues. Today remembering Robert Capa and Mark Fineman....
